Descripción: Archivo de imágenes fotográficas que documenta el encuentro fortuito de objetos abandonados en el espacio público de la ciudades de Bruselas y Kuala Lumpur. El ATLAS toma diversas presentaciones según las condiciones específicas de instalación. Se presenta como edición de carteles, como C-Prints sobre papel fotográfico profesional o como impresiones offset sobre papel offset 80 gramos, etc.
Jesús Palomino explica de esta manera su proceso:
“Entre el 10 de mayo y el 10 de junio de 2015 trabajé en Kuala Lumpur preparando este proyecto. Mi principal actividad consistió en pasear alrededor de la ciudad dando largos paseos: cinco días a la semana, entre 6 y 7 horas cada día. Después de un mes había visitado la mayoría de los distritos de la ciudad. Mi intención era tomarle el pulso a la diversidad humana y social de la capital de Malasia. Anduve visitando lugares de mucho interés y también dejándome llevar un poco sin rumbo a otros lugares menos visitados de la ciudad. Durante esos paseos tomé fotografías de los objetos que encontré en mi camino de manera espontánea y no planeada. Después de un par de semanas caí en la cuenta de el enorme número de objetos abandonados que había en el espacio público. Fue entonces cuando la acción de tomar fotografías se hizo más intencional y consciente. Cada día, al volver a casa de mis paseos, observaba la gran variedad de objetos y la particularidad de algunos de ellos. Este ATLAS OF ABANDONED OBJECTS surgió de esta sencilla experiencia de observaciónn y documentación de la vida de la ciudad.”
Entre las series existentes se encuentran: VERTICAL ABANDONED OBJECTS, ABANDONED HUBCAPS, ABANDONED MATTRESSES, ABANDONED PIECES OF BREAD, etc. Este proyecto fue llevado a cabo en colaboración con la Galería Wei Ling de Kuala Lumpur.
El público asistente a la sala podía coger los pósters gratuitamente si así lo deseaba.
Datos técnicos: Edición de 500 pósters, 84 x 60 cm cada uno, cuatricromía sobre papel mate 128 gr. Medidas variables.
English text: ATLAS OF ABANDONED OBJECTS Poster Edition, Kuala Lumpur 2015

Collection of photographic images that documents the artist’s chance encounters with abandoned objects in the public space of Kuala Lumpur.
A simple definition of the word ATLAS could be: 1. A volume of prints, maps or plans that syste- matically illustrate a particular subject. 2. A book or set of maps, often accompanied by additional illustrations and graphic analyses. 3. A collection of diverse objects grouped together or conside- red as a single entity.
In the case of this ATLAS, I have assembled a collection of images of abandoned objects found on the street. I should explain the project and his procedure in the following manner:
“Between May 10 th. through June 10 th 2015 I have worked in Kuala Lumpur preparing this project. My principal activity consisted of wandering around the city on long walks. Five days per week, five to seven hour sper day aproximately. After one month I have visited most of the city’s different districts. My aim was to get the feel of the human and social diversity of Malaysia´s capital. I wal- ked around, visiting places of interest although I also let myself wander at random or drift towards less central and not so well known areas. During these wanderings I took photographs of the ob- jects that I encountered on my way, just doing it in a spontaneous and unplanned manner. But af- ter a couple of weeks, I started to be aware of the huge number of objects that were abandoned outdoors and the huge number of pictures collected. It is then when my interest in documenting this encounter with all those things on the street becomes artistically more conscious and inten- tional. Every day, on coming home from my walks I can observe with surprise the enormous varie- ty and uniqueness of the objects that I encountered. ATLAS OF ABANDONED OBJECTS arose from that simple observation and relationship with the city and its life.”
ATLAS OF ABANDONED OBJECTS comprises a varied series of photographic images: ABAN- DONED STICKS, ABANDONED CHAIRS, ABANDONED WHEELS, ABANDONED BOTTLES OF WATER, and so on and so forth, and the collection of 48 images that is actually presented as an edition of posters at the WOLO Hotel in collaboration with Wei Ling Gallery from Kuala Lumpur.
Visitors to the gallery space are welcome to help themselves to them.
